Finally it's time for Stephanie's shoes to come off. We talk a bit more, and then I trigger her trance. While in a state of heightened suggestibility, I give her the ideas that she feels like she has a crush on me. (Behind the scenes, two interesting things occurred in this clip. First, there's a rough edit jump early in the scene. I decided to pull out a piece of our conversation for editorial reasons - basically I was excited about my impending trip to Europe and went off on an unrelated tangent. Second, before the shoot, one of my staff members advised me that she had a thing about water, and suggested that I steer away from it - no dumping glasses over her head, that sort of thing. Naturally as is the case with any negative suggestion, the mind generally loses the negative, so "no water" tends to become "water." As I was getting ready to suggest that she was going to soap herself up, I noticed one of my staff members waving trying to get my attention, and got away from that topic. As a side note, hypnosis is very effective at dealing with such things, but our purpose here tonight was entertainment, and not therapy.)

Using hypnotic suggestion, I cause Stephanie to do jumping jacks every time I and only I say Jumping Jacks. I reinforce her positive response to my voice and my pleasure while she's in a deep trance. I then use the suggestions that cause her to do jumping jacks, and it quickly becomes apparent that she doesn't realize she's doing them. This leads to an amusing conversation, that builds up to a climax where she's doing jumping jacks, clucking like a chicken and then gets turned in to gold. As a side note, I realize in this clip that the phrase "feels like you have butterflies in your stomach," seems to have fallen out of common usage, and besides if taken literally, as suggestions frequently are, lead to unexpected results.
